- Works closely with program office management and leadership to fill vacancies by new hire, promotion, or detail
- Provide one on one support to program office management and leadership with recruitment and interviewing efforts, and facilitates the hiring of qualified applicants
- Draft job postings
- Serves as the main point of contact for each new hire throughout the onboarding process
- Ensure all new hire forms and onboarding is accurate and complete
- Work with Fiscal Operations (Budget Administration) to endure accurate funding for all positions
- Advise and provide guidance to program office management and leadership on compensation issues, and pay, such as recommendations for new hires, salary for promotion, reallocation or detail, etc.
- Conduct New Employee Orientation
- May perform other duties, as assigned

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus one year of human resources experience; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus one year of human resources experience; OR
An advanced degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behavior, or a Juris Doctorate.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Designation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.As a Human Resources professional with LDOE, you will be responsible for various tasks, including, but not limited to:
Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Human Resources Analyst B, C or Specialist depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Monthly: $3,579 – $7,025

Monthly: $4,099 – $8,044
Annually: $49,192 – $96,533
