- Interview, process and provide orientation to new part-time Food & Nutrition employees
- Establish and maintain files for part-time Food & Nutrition personnel
- Establish and maintain personnel and payroll records for part-time Food & Nutrition personnel
- Generate Personnel Action Requests Forms (PARFs)
- Provide and maintain access to and assist Food & Nutrition staff with TimeClock Plus (TCP) timekeeping system
- Respond to inquiries from applicants, district personnel and general public to provide information, resolve issues and/or refer to appropriate personnel for resolution
- Perform general office tasks
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Accept and review for completeness, job applications for cafeteria positions
- Assist in compiling workshop materials, forms and letters
- Prepare hiring packets for adult and student employees
- Serve as office courier and back-up receptionist as needed
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
- Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
- High School education or equivalent
- Valid Arizona driver’s license and ability to use own vehicle when needed
- Minimum two years clerical experience
- Human resources experience preferred
- iVisions and TimeClock Plus experience preferred

- Above average proficiency in typing, with good accuracy; above average test battery
- Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines with accurate attention to detail while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision
- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, email etc)
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with applicants, district personnel of all levels and general public
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Valid Arizona driver’s license and ability to use own vehicle when needed
- Primarily works in an office environment within the school district’s central administration or nutrition services department
- May occasionally visit school cafeterias or kitchens to support onboarding, training, or compliance checks
- Frequent communication with food service staff, administrators, and vendors. The role is people-focused, requiring professional interaction over phone, email, and in person
- Requires the ability to move between offices, possibly different buildings within the district. Occasional driving may be required if traveling to schools
- Mostly sitting at a desk working on a computer, with periods of standing or walking when filing or attending meetings
- May occasionally need to lift files, boxes of documents, or supplies—generally under 25 lbs

Base Hourly:
$19.64
Class/Calendar:
B21, 12 months

Performance Pay:
Available annually
New Hire Experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position
Job Summary:
To process, verify and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities for part-time food and nutrition personnel to ensure compliance with district policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.
