      The Benefits Coordinator position is responsible for directing and planning the day to day operations of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, accident and critical illness, flexible spending accounts and 401(k) retirement plans). This position also provides excellent customer service. The Benefits Coordinator also supervises and monitors benefit administration, and provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs. Serve as a liaison between employees and the third-party administrator. Resolve benefits related issues to ensure effective utilization of plans.

      1. Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
      2. Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.
      3. Investigate discrepancies and provide information on non-routine situations.
      4. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
      5. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations (i.e. HIPPA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, etc.).
      6. Assure accuracy and timeliness of required filings.
      7. Coordinate daily benefit processing. - Enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, hardships and compliance testing.
      8. Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files and updating of employee payroll records.
      9. Implement and maintain group benefits databases.
      10. Prepare regular benefit reports extracting data from the databases.
      12. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s benefits package.
      13.Design and distribute materials for benefit orientations, open enrollment and summary plan 14. Other related, necessary duties as required by the Department Director/Supervisor.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.

      • Capability of effective planning and priority setting while working to meet deadlines
      • Knowledge and general understanding of the leave requirements afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws
      • Ability and desire to learn all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and requirements affecting employee benefit programs, including COBRA, Section 125, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
      • Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce Platform preferred but not required
      • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels with respect and compassion
