      GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Human Resources, the HR Coordinator will provide professional human resources support for the association. This position will be responsible for performing analytical and administrative work for daily human resources activities, disseminating pertinent information related to HR activities; serving as a subject matter expert for HR related questions, and assuring training and compliance requirements are met for staff.

      MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

      Education/Experience Requirements:

      1. Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in HR preferred
      2. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
      3. Accredited HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred
      4. Knowledge of UKG Workforce Ready preferred
      5. Must have knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources.

      Physical/Mental Requirements:

      1. Must be able to routinely perform the following physical activities; climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, walk, lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity to perform detailed tasks
      2. Must possess a high-level ability to ensure and maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
      3. Must have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
      4. Must possess problem solving, organizational and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment
      5. Must be detail oriented and exhibit a high degree of accuracy and alertness
      6. Must exhibit initiative in the absence of supervision
      7. Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner
      8. Must work collaboratively as a team member as well as independently and lead by assigned goals, duties and deadlines
      9. Must possess ability to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality
      10. Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times

      Job Requirements:

      1. Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision and values
      2. Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire
      3. Learn all emergency procedures and action plans for the branch
      4. Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association
      5. Work a schedule that reflects the needs of the branch; possible weekends and evenings on occasion

      JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

      1. Overseeing the recruitment process; assisting supervisors with submitting job requisitions, retrieving applications, submitting background checks and the overall hiring process.
      2. Overseeing the new hire and rehire onboarding process; monitoring completion of documentation and communicating with supervisors and staff to ensure completion of paperwork in a timely manner.
      3. Administering benefits for the association to include; open enrollment process, meeting with new staff to review benefits, answering questions, and managing the enrollment/termination of benefits with insurance carriers and the HRIS.
      4. Reviewing, researching, processing all HR actions for association to include, but not limited to; promotions, pay changes, terminations, hires, and other actions submitted through the HRIS system.
      5. Ensuring all HR related actions involving payroll changes are communicated to the Payroll department and monitored each pay period for accuracy.
      6. Inputting training and certification information into the HRIS system by established deadlines.
      7. Conducting background checks for applicants, employees, and volunteers.
      8. Supporting Strong Community Campaign fundraising efforts.

      EFFECT ON END RESULT: The association will be supported through efficient, accurate, and timely internal customer service ensuring smooth, daily operations and achievement of the mission.
