POSITION SUMMARY Provides leadership to the Division of Human Resources; plans, directs, and coordinates activities for the district to maximize the strategic use of human resources management and maintain functions such as staffing, benefits, leave management, recruitment and retention, personnel policies, performance management, certification, substitute management, employee record retention, and state reporting (CPI). Possesses skills related to problem solving, planning, supervising, organizing, and scheduling. Ability to handle highly sensitive personnel matters in a timely and professional manner. This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs (relating to staffing, benefits, leave management, recruitment and retention, personnel policies, performance management, certification, substitute management, employee record retention, and state reporting - CPI) through Human Resources staff; assists and advises school administrators, department heads, and others as necessary related to Human Resources. Administers and participates in executive, administrative, and staff meetings/trainings and attends other meetings and seminars. Assists in the interpretation and implementation of applicable district, state and federal policies, laws and regulations to personnel. Assists Human Resources annual budget as necessary. Reviews periodic reports for management as necessary to track strategic goal accomplishments. All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services. KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS Master’s Degree in Leadership, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Public Administration required. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources required. Experience in K-12 education, at a level comparable to building administrator or department head, preferred. Prior experience coordinating within all District Divisions; makes decisions and final recommendations, which routinely affect the activities of others. A Support Personnel License will be required from the GaPSC, if incumbent does not possess GaPSC Certification. PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred, or must be pursued by incumbent if not possessed at time of application. High level of judgment required: supervisor is available on limited time basis; individual required to establish and evaluate departmental and organizational objectives. Requires regular, frequent contact with internal and external personnel of influence and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance; requires continuing contact with officials at higher levels. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with inter-organizational teams. Responsible for supervising multiple functions with a high-level accountability for effective operation and results. Requires excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills. Must have the ability to apply local, state, and federal policies and/or laws to HR practices. Applies, recommends, and implements technology concepts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the District. Requires travel to off-site locations and school site visits. Normal office setting. Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less. NOTE: This is a grade 32, 225 day position.About the company
