      This is an Open and Promotional recruitment. Anyone may apply. Current County of San Mateo and County of San Mateo Superior Court of California employees with at least six months (1040 hours) of continuous service in classified regular, probationary, extra-help or limited term positions prior to the final filing date will receive five points added to their final passing score on this examination.

      The examination process will consist of an Application Screening (weight: pass/fail) and an Interview (weight: 100%), which may include the evaluation of a writing and/or presentation exercise. A screening committee will select those applicants whose education and/or experience appear to best meet the needs of the position. For that reason, not all applicants who meet the qualifications are guaranteed advancement through the interview. Depending on the number of applicants a Phone Interview/Screening may be scheduled in addition to the Application Screening and prior to the interviews.

      Application Screening: Week of August 11, 2025
      Civil Service Interviews (in-person): Week of August 25, 2025
      Finalist Interviews (in-person): Week of September 1, 2025
