      WHO WE ARE:

      We are a leading specialty retailer of casual apparel, footwear and accessories for young men, young women, boys and girls with an extensive assortment of iconic global, emerging, and proprietary brands rooted in an active and social lifestyle. We are based out of sunny Southern California at the Tilly’s RSC. You’ll hear the term RSC a lot, it stands for Retail Support Center since our corporate offices are here to support our retail and online stores.

      SUMMARY:

      General Human Resource responsibilities including Employee Relations, Investigations, Compliance, Workers’ Compensation, HR Operations and Training. This position fulfills many of the daily functions of the department and is based at the Corporate Offices supporting two Distribution Centers and our Customer Service Call Center. The job description includes but is not limited to the following:

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Daily involvement with Employee Relations Issues and general employee questions
      • Conduct investigations, maintains detailed notes and documentation, presents recommendations, and brings investigations to resolution
      • Provides ongoing training/coaching to employees and managers on policies, procedures, documentation, and other HR-related issues
      • Provides guidance and support to the leadership team with Employee terminations and counseling conversations
      • Understands and provides guidance on legal and wage/hour compliance
      • Updates and provides suggestions to HR forms, documents, and Policies and Procedures Manuals
      • Partners with the Talent Acquisition team to execute hiring goals and facilitate new hire onboarding
      • Provides support with the Unemployment Claims process
      • Conducts exit interviews and follows up on actionable feedback
      • Assists with the development and facilitation of the Performance Review process
      • Understands the Employee Benefits process and partners with the Benefits team to execute compliance and communication
      • Understands New Hire Reporting, I-9, and E-Verification processes and partners with the HR Admin team to execute compliance
      • Partners with Loss Prevention on pre-employment background screening interviews
      • Collaborates with Loss Prevention on investigations and provides recommendations for resolution
      • Understands and supports Leave of Absence, Workers’ Compensation, and Accommodation processes (STD, LTD, ADA, ADAAA, FMLA, CFRA, etc.).
      • Partners with Loss Prevention/Risk Management to conduct Safety Training and Programs
      • Understands HR information systems and provides employee support
      • Special Projects as assigned by HR Manager, VP of HR, and the Distribution Center Leadership Team

      QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

      • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT, etc)
      • Knowledge of HR systems and ADP preferred
      • Able to effectively use common office equipment
      • Working knowledge of a distribution center/warehouse environment preferred
      • Ability to reprioritize projects frequently and multitask

      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

      • High School Diploma required
      • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
      • 5+ years of Human Resources Experience required
      • Distribution Center Experience is preferred.

      LANGUAGE SKILLS:

      • Excellent interpersonal skills.
      • Strong verbal and written communication.
      • Proficient in English and Spanish

      CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

      • PHR/SHRM-CP Certification preferred

      • Strong oral and written communication skills
      • Strong analytical skills as well as independent thinking/reasoning ability

      What to Expect?

      Annual Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000: Offer placement within this range is dependent on a variety of factors, including prior relevant experience, qualifications, and skill set.

      Based out of HQ in Irvine, CA with a minimum of 4 days in office.
