      Job Details

      Position Overview

      We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Manager to join our growing hotel management company. In this role, you will oversee the daily workflow of the HR department and be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and location-specific employment laws and regulations. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive, compliant, and productive work environment, as well as managing various HR functions, including employee relations, professional development, and policy modification.

      The ideal candidate will be a seasoned HR professional with at least 2 years of management experience, strong knowledge of labor laws (including California employment laws), and a passion for supporting the growth of a dynamic team in the hospitality industry.

      Key Responsibilities

      Daily HR Operations

      • Oversee the daily operations of the HR department, ensuring that all HR processes run smoothly and efficiently.
      • Handle day-to-day employee relations, addressing concerns, providing guidance, and supporting managers with HR-related issues.

      HR Policy Management

      • Review, update, and enforce HR policies to ensure they remain compliant with current laws and best practices.
      • Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives aimed at improving employee satisfaction, performance, and retention.

      Employee Engagement

      • Support efforts to build a positive, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
      • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and staff, fostering open communication and resolving conflicts as needed.

      Training & Development

      • Coordinate and facilitate employee training, certification programs, and professional development activities.
      • Work closely with department managers to identify training needs and ensure employees have the resources and skills necessary to succeed.

      Compliance & Best Practices

      • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and location-specific employment laws and regulations, with a particular emphasis on California labor laws.
      • Review and recommend best practices to ensure that company policies and procedures meet legal requirements.
      • Modify policies and practices as necessary to maintain compliance and keep up with changes in laws and regulations.

      Discipline & Termination

      • Manage and oversee the discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy and legal guidelines.
      • Ensure all disciplinary actions are documented and conducted professionally, fairly, and in line with best practices.

      Qualifications

      • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources management, with a proven track record of success.
      • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws, with a focus on California labor laws.
      • Experience in the hospitality industry is highly desired but not required.
      • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
      • Experience working in Paycom is helpful.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
      • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
      • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
      • A proactive and hands-on approach to HR management, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
