We are looking for a Human Resources Manager who brings agility in thinking, unity in action, humility in leadership, a strong drive for excellence, and true ownership of results. This position will support our Engineered Controls Systems division and work from our Hoover, AL location.
The job:
As our Human Resources Manager, you will be a business partner with the Division President and Directors of Operations who oversee our 11 facilities and nearly 500 US employees. You will be responsible for aligning HR practices with organizational goals while ensuring full compliance with employment laws and internal policies across multiple states. This is a tactical, hands-on leadership role where you will both strategize and execute.
What you will do:
You will collaborate with each of our manufacturing and engineering locations to strategize their recruiting, employee relations, performance management, legal compliance, onboarding, training and development and compensation and benefit processes. You will continuously assess and improve HR policies to stay ahead of state and federal compliance requirements and champion change by supporting strategic HR initiatives and continuous improvement — including Lean practices. You will guide and support employees and supervisors with employee relations and disciplinary matters. You will be responsible for supervisor training of new and existing leaders. Travel 25%+ required.
The skills you need:
To succeed in this role, you will need to be extremely detailed and prudent. You must have experience managing HR functions in a growing multi-site manufacturing environment and possess a strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices across multiple states. You must have experience with recruiting, employee relations, onboarding and training. You must have exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading Human Resources in a manufacturing environment along with a bachelor’s degree in human resources or business-related field and HR Certification is desired.
