      Duties & Responsibilities:

      Human Resources Function -

      Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and employment compliance procedures aligned with federal, state, and local laws. Manage (if any) legal employment cases.

      Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.

      Advice on employee relations, performance management, and workplace investigations.

      Oversee benefits administration, leaves of absence, and employee wellness initiatives.

      Manager all HR legal compliance and matters.

      Maintain HRIS and employee records with accuracy and confidentiality.

      Promote company culture, employee engagement, development of social media branding.

      Serve as a trusted advisor to management and staff on HR matters and labor law compliance.

      Payroll Function -

      Process payroll according to established company schedule (semi-monthly) for exempt and non-exempt employees in multiple state locations, ensuring compliance with applicable wage and hour laws.

      Ensure all wage-related changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, bonuses, deductions) are accurately reflected in the payroll systems.

      Prepare and file payroll taxes, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

      Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.

      Manage year-end payroll processes, including W-2 and 1099 filings.

      Respond to employee questions about pay, withholdings, and tax forms in a timely manner.

      Required Qualifications:

      Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.

      5+ years of combined HR and payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.

      Knowledge of California labor law (including wage orders, FEHA, and CFRA) and multi-state payroll compliance.

      Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems preferably Paylocity.

      Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

      Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality and professionalism as well as credibility, presence, and communication skills to be an influential business partner.

      SHRM certification is highly preferred.
