      You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (RECRUITMENT/PLACEMENT) in the Customer Service Department (Code 50), Recruitment Division of OCHR STENNIS OPERATIONS CENTER. The position may be located in any Division (Code 52, 53 or 54). The primary purpose of this position is to perform technical work in specialized recruitment, examination, selection or placement, including: Merit Promotion or Direct Hiring

      Duties


      • You will conduct job analysis (e.g., review position description, classification standards, performance standards) for a variety of occupational series and grades.
      • You will advise customers on staffing and recruitment processing procedures.
      • You will build position descriptions in a human resources information system (e.g., the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System [DCPDS]).
      • You will extend tentative or final job offers to selectees.

      Requirements


      • Must be a US Citizen.
      • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
      • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

      • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
      • You may be required to obtain Delegated Examining Unit (DEU) certification within a year of occupying the position.

      Qualifications


      Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with human resources (HR) issues in accordance to HR regulations and procedures, i.e. reviewing Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) for accuracy and completeness, assisting HR Specialists with recruitment or processing of RPAs, etc.; 2) Responding to human resources questions, i.e., providing information or status on vacancy announcements or RPAs; and 3) Referencing HR materials such as manuals and regulations to ensure adherence to HR rules and regulations for processing personnel actions.
