- Assist the Department of Education (DOE) Human Resource Professional (HRP1) by ensuring consistency of human resources policies, work rules, policy enforcement, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, leave management, reasonable accommodations, and FMLA.
- Provide assistance with the hiring process by routing vacancy paperwork for approval, posting positions on the NEOGov system and IowaWorks, routing the screening tool and interview questions for completion, creating and sharing interview folders with team members, scheduling interviews, processing salary justification packets, completing offer letters for approval, and organizing the onboarding of new hires
- Monitor employee performance evaluation status and notification of supervisors monthly in accordance with evaluation due dates. Review the evaluation forms/goals to assure that they are correctly completed and route completed reviews for signatures
- Assist the HRP1 in maintaining official personnel files in accordance with DAS-HRE requirements, which includes filing human resources documents, position description questionnaires, performance evaluations, and other materials in employee personnel files
- Assist the HRP1 in the review of biweekly distribution payroll worksheet and timesheets to ensure all funding and program code changes are entered accurately and timely

- Compile and submit HR reports on a regular basis.
Hours: 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M., Monday – Friday with opportunity for hybrid remote work schedule after initial training period; occasional in-state and out-of-state travel. Upon hire, applicants must reside in Iowa.

- A total of two years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where 30 semester hours of accredited post-high school course work equals one year of full-time experience.
- Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to one year of full-time administrative support work in a human resources-related program area.
