      Position Summary

      Chaminade University of Honolulu’s (CUH) Total Rewards Lead is an integral part of the Human Resources team as they support the design, communication and maintenance of the university’s total rewards programs focused around CUH people strategy initiatives including benefit programs, compensation analysis, equity and inclusion, performance management, employee development, and employee engagement.

      Reports to: Assistant Vice President, Human Resources

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Designs, builds and implements total rewards processes, policies, and programs in alignment with CUH’s strategic initiatives.
      • Plans, coordinates, and communicates annual open enrollment, benefit resources, and wellness programs. Accurately administers benefits and leave programs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
      • Develops communication strategies for employee awareness of benefit, wellness, and reward programs. Establishes and builds relationships with outside vendors to provide additional resources and support including presentations, webinars, etc. that would benefit the employee population.
      • Analyzes compensation and pay equity including reviewing and assessing local and national wage data as it relates to new and existing positions. Reviews and makes recommendations for pay increases or pay adjustments.
      • Develops employee retention and recognition program in alignment with CUH strategies.

      Education and Experience

      Minimum

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field.
      • 2 years of experience in one or more of the following functions; benefits & leave administration, compensation, pay equity, training & development, performance management, wellness programs, and employee retention & engagement.
      • 2 years of experience with HRIS or payroll systems (ADP or other).
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Powerpoint, and Word. Experience working with Google software systems is a plus.

      Preferred

      • HR Certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR)
      • Experience with wage data analysis, compensation programs, departmental budgets.
      • Experience in a higher education setting.

      • Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written) skills with diverse individuals and groups as well as the ability to interact and work with individuals at various levels of the university.
      • The ability to handle challenging situations timely and appropriately with empathy and concern.
      • Problem-solving and critical thinking of tasks at hand. Self-motivated and solution-oriented.
      • Organized and meticulous attention to detail.
      • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources to meet deadlines.
      • Ability to interpret data and prepare business solutions that would benefit the organization.
      • High integrity and ethical standards. Core values in alignment with Marianist faith and principles. Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

      Physical Requirements

      Duties involve light work in an office and education setting. Requires long periods of time at a desk either sitting or standing. Must be able to lift ten (10) pounds, walk the campus (including stairs), and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity.       Other Requirements

      • Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle (parking provided).
      • This is a full time, exempt position. Forty hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule.
      • Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
      • Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner.
