What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Install, configure, support, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain desktop, laptop, mobile, and handheld computers
- Assist end users with operating systems and applications, providing training as needed
- Develop and implement procedures for City data processing operations
- Maintain user accounts and perform data migration when computers are replaced
- Create and maintain technical support documentation for users
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree in computer science or related field preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in desktop computer hardware and software support
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's license required during employment
- Must be State of Wisconsin TIME system certified within 6 months of employment
- Strong analytical, organizational, customer service, and communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with server virtualization and Microsoft Windows server operating systems
- Proficiency in advanced-level PC hardware operation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Familiarity with various database systems
- Ability to provide effective training to end-users of varying skill levels
- Experience in preparing written reports and delivering oral communications effectively
