      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Review and interpret patient medical record documentation to assign ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and CPT codes accurately
      - Validate coded data to Diagnosis Related Groupers (DRG) and ensure accuracy of Present on Admission (POA) indicators
      - Assist with coding outpatient surgery, observation, and emergency room record visits as necessary
      - Communicate with physicians to clarify documentation requirements and coding accuracy
      - Maintain current knowledge of coding, DRG, and documentation changes, rules, and guidelines

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - RHIA or RHIT required, with CCS highly desired; or CCS with two years of full-time ICD-10-CM/PCS coding experience
      - Experience with outpatient observation and ambulatory surgery coding preferred
      - Technically competent in electronic health record applications and automated encoders
      - Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision
      - Must demonstrate superior coding skills and pass a skills assessment with a score of 90% accuracy prior to hire

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Pediatric coding experience highly desired
      - Experience using Microsoft Office Excel and Word
      - Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
      - Goal-oriented, flexible, and energetic demeanor
