- Build strong professional relationships with all stakeholders.
- Build exceptional technical knowledge of UK Equity product range such that IPM can present to senior asset owner staff, discretionary allocators, or represent the franchise as a portfolio manager replacement when required.
- Continually provide market feedback to relevant stakeholders to support refinement of specialist marketing material and other messaging.
- Represent Global Content Forum insights to equity teams to ensure alignment of interest and maximise potential of material produced.
- Work with Martin Currie and Franklin Templeton business development teams to support relevant sales opportunities - understand Distribution priorities and align PM and IPM resource appropriately.
- Support and attend key presentations – including finals – globally.
- Support delivery of RFPs for key opportunities using technical and investment knowledge to elevate proposals.
- Lead conversation on product innovation and evolution to maintain relevance with evolving market demands.
- Client service: Accountable for client service rankings and plan across institutional and key retail client base. Work with FT local teams and Martin Currie teams to ensure client service and asset retention is consistent and focused.
- Lead the delivery of quarter end narrative and slides for Distribution Services to produce to ensure consistent messaging and service across all clients.
- Provide regular verbal and written updates on status of client base to wider firm and Head of IPM team.
- An undergraduate degree is expected.
- Previous experience of global equity portfolio management or company research advantageous
- IMC and CFA Charterholder (minimum Level 1 or equivalent)
- Potential requirement to undertake FINRA qualifications: General Securities Representative
- Industry Knowledge - has comprehensive knowledge of business strategy, investment markets, financial terminology, and compliance requirements.
- Established equity financial markets experience
- Strong technical skills, coming from an investments background or technically focused distribution/client services/product role.
- Understanding of regional economic and political background, as pertains to UK equities is desired but not essential.
- Interpersonal Skills - must be able to work well both independently and within groups and cope with diverse contacts.
- Outstanding presentation skills and ability to lead key sales and client service meetings.

What is the Distribution team responsible for?
The Distribution team is responsible for asset retention and new business growth. Within Distribution, the Institutional Portfolio Manager (IPM), UK Equity is responsible for supporting the increase in franchise value of their equity team through supporting distribution and asset retention. They act as an extension to the equity team, to promote the franchise in relevant priority markets. They work through regional business development teams and client portfolio managers to execute on sales and client priorities.
