- Reduce outstanding accounts receivable by managing and resolving assigned claims inventory
- Communicate professionally with patients and insurance companies regarding balances, benefits, claims, and payment-related concerns
- Gather, verify, and update patient demographic, insurance, referral, authorization, and eligibility information
- Utilize revenue cycle systems and payer portals to review accounts, verify coverage, and resolve claim issues
- Explain billing requirements, financial responsibilities, and payment options to patients and payors
- Partner with Claims and Collections teams to support patient billing and payment activities
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of payment posting experience in a healthcare billing environment
- 2 years of denials management experience
- 2 years of medical billing and insurance follow-up experience
- Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payors
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Hospital Billing (HB) and Professional Billing (PB) experience
- Experience with Epic, Health Quest, Experian, Waystar, and/or NextGen
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire

About the Role:
The Insurance Specialist, Payment Posting is responsible for resolving insurance processing errors, claim denials, and billing challenges for hospital and physician billing accounts. This role ensures insurance claims are accurately reviewed, followed up on, and resolved to support timely reimbursement and reduced accounts receivable. The Insurance Specialist partners with patients, insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal revenue cycle teams to address billing issues and deliver exceptional customer service.
