What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments, confirming details such as copayments and deductibles
- Communicate with patients regarding their insurance benefits and any potential out-of-pocket costs
- Assist in gathering necessary documentation for insurance claims submission and resolving any denied claims
- Maintain accurate records of insurance information and update the clinic's EMR and practice management software
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate insurance information is utilized in patient care and address any insurance-related issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in the healthcare field working with insurance is required
- Strong technical and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR platforms
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction
- Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus
