What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for medical equipment
- Communicate with patients regarding their financial responsibilities and coverage options
- Enter accurate patient demographic and insurance information into EMR databases
- Resolve coverage issues and escalate complicated cases to management
- Maintain knowledge of current products, services, and payer policies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of work-related experience in healthcare administrative, financial, or insurance customer services
- For senior level, two (2) years of work-related experience and one (1) year of exact job experience
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial health plan methodologies preferred
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a Medicare certified HME, Diabetic, Pharmacy, or home medical supplies environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in a call center or similar environment
