      Position Overview

      We are seeking a mid- to senior-level Interim Assistant General Counsel to provide leave coverage on a full-time, contract basis. This role is highly transactional and hands-on, supporting a lean legal team during a period of significant activity, including a major personalization and platform development initiative.

      The ideal candidate will bring strong product counsel and/or data privacy experience, thrive in a fast-paced "firehose" environment, and be comfortable balancing both strategic legal guidance and operational/legal administrative responsibilities.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Review, draft, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements (B2B and B2C).
      • Provide legal support for platform and personalization initiatives.
      • Conduct day-to-day legal review of marketing assets, consumer-facing materials, and product content (including Figma assets).
      • Support vendor onboarding processes in coordination with cross-functional teams (e.g., accounting, business units).
      • Manage contract intake, review workflows, and legal operations tasks in a lean environment.
      • Utilize internal tools (including AI-assisted contract review) to support efficient contract management.
      • Provide practical guidance on product, compliance, and data privacy matters (including HIPAA considerations).
      • Partner closely with the Associate General Counsel and cross-functional stakeholders across the organization.
      • Identify process improvement opportunities and make recommendations, particularly around contract management and product workflows.

      Qualifications

      • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
      • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
      • 5-10+ years of legal experience, preferably in-house or in a high-volume commercial environment.
      • Strong background in product counseling and data privacy (HIPAA experience preferred).
      • Demonstrated experience managing a broad range of commercial contracts.
      • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume, highly transactional environment.
      • Willingness to handle both strategic and operational/legal administrative work.
      • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
      • Ability to ramp quickly and operate with limited infrastructure (light contract management systems).

      Preferred Experience

      • Experience in healthcare, telehealth, or regulated environments.
      • Familiarity with legal ops and contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes.
      • Experience reviewing marketing and consumer-facing materials.
      • Prior experience in a lean legal team or startup environment.

      Additional Details

      • Fully remote role with preference for East Coast working hours (West Coast candidates considered).
      • Equipment and system access will be provided.
      • Structured onboarding with overlap from the current General Counsel to ensure continuity.
