- Salary: $93,857.00 - $126,983.00 per year
- Eligible for an annual bonus incentive
- Develop, implement and measure comprehensive internal communications strategies and campaigns for HR initiatives, with a particular emphasis on associate engagement and organizational change.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Ascension’s HR leadership, providing strategic communications counsel and support for complex, sensitive and high-impact programs.
- Strategically design and disseminate messaging that promotes associate understanding, drives retention and encourages associates to recommend Ascension as a great place to work.
- Proactively identify communication opportunities to support process adoption, change management efforts and overall organizational effectiveness within the HR landscape. This includes simplifying complex HR and financial information into clear, actionable content for a diverse workforce.
- Develop high-quality internal communications content, compelling campaigns and events that align with our operational objectives and enhance our internal brand as an employer.
- Combine strategic thinking and a big-picture perspective with meticulous attention to detail, clarity and focus. You will excel at driving communications across matrixed organizations and gaining internal buy-in and support.
- Ensure all communications authentically reflect the Mission, Vision and Values of Ascension as a healing ministry of the Catholic Church.
- Requires outstanding writing skills, critical thinking skills, strategic counseling skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a high-performance environment. Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
- Maintain flexible availability and responsiveness both during and outside of normal work hours as necessary.
- High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree is highly preferred with at least 5 years in an internal communications role, ideally with experience working in a healthcare provider system or similar services organization.
- At least 3 years of leadership or management experience.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful, measurable communication plans for major HR initiatives, including significant experience with learning and development, listening programs, compensation reviews and policy updates.
- Demonstrated expertise in associate engagement and leading large-scale change communications efforts, particularly related to HR system implementations or organizational transformations.
- Exceptional ability to simplify complex financial, HR and policy information into easily digestible, engaging and visually appealing content for a diverse workforce.
- Experience managing communications for large-scale HR system implementations or changes.
- Ability to write and edit engaging and visually appealing change communications.
- Experience planning and managing a coordinated content approach that directly impacts engagement of key audiences in support of our business goals.
- Strong collaboration skills, with a proven ability to partner effectively with cross-functional business partners and senior leaders, providing strategic communications counsel.
- Proven driver and communicator across matrixed organizations, helping to gain internal buy-in and support.
- Outstanding writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
- Journalism or communications degree preferred. Strong preference for candidates with a focus on and/or experience with business, economics or HR-related communications
