      The Role: A Trusted "Connector" Behind Every Appointment

      We are looking for an Interpreter Specialist who is energized by solving scheduling puzzles, supporting interpreters, and ensuring patients receive the language access services they need.

      In this role, you will serve as a critical connection point between Linguava's interpreter network, healthcare clients, and internal teams. You'll help ensure every appointment is staffed with the right interpreter at the right time, while delivering exceptional service and support throughout the scheduling process.

      Position Summary

      The Interpreter Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional support to Linguava's interpreter network while ensuring optimal coverage for client requests.

      This role focuses on interpreter scheduling, appointment management, customer service, and operational excellence. The Interpreter Specialist works closely with interpreters, healthcare clients, and internal teams to maintain scheduling continuity, resolve concerns, and support Linguava's commitment to health equity through timely and accurate interpreter placement.
      What You'll Do
      Coordinate Interpreter Scheduling & Coverage
      • Assign interpreters based on availability, credentials, language proficiency, location, and client requirements
      • Verify interpreter eligibility and credentialing requirements prior to assignment
      • Proactively fill open assignments and scheduling gaps to maximize coverage
      • Reassign appointments as needed to ensure continuity of service
      • Arrange backup coverage whenever possible to minimize disruptions
      Deliver Exceptional Customer Service
      • Respond to interpreter and client inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and urgency
      • Handle inbound and outbound communications related to scheduling and appointment updates
      • Resolve concerns through a One Call Resolution mindset whenever possible
      • Communicate cancellations, delays, no-shows, and schedule changes promptly and accurately
      • Build strong relationships with interpreters to support engagement and retention
      Manage Appointment Operations
      • Review appointment details, history, and special instructions before making scheduling decisions
      • Maintain accurate appointment records and scheduling documentation
      • Ensure all actions, communications, and resolutions are properly recorded
      • Monitor scheduling activity to identify and address potential service gaps
      Support Compliance & Quality
      • Follow scheduling protocols, departmental SOPs, and contractual requirements
      • Ensure assignments meet all credentialing and compliance standards
      • Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
      • Document incidents, client communications, and resolution efforts appropriately
      • Support quality initiatives that improve scheduling consistency and client satisfaction

      Required Qualifications

      Education
      • High School Diploma or GED required
      Experience
      • Customer service, scheduling, administrative support, or operations experience preferred
      • Experience working in healthcare, language services, or workforce scheduling environments is a plus

      Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience in healthcare, language services, interpreter scheduling, or workforce management
      • Familiarity with Oregon Health Authority (OHA) credentialing requirements
      • Understanding of language access regulations and interpreter compliance requirements
      • Experience working with interpreters or multilingual service providers

      Work Environment & Schedule
      • Remote position with the option to work from Linguava's Portland office
      • Ability to attend training and occasional meetings in the Portland office as needed
      • Must maintain a professional home office environment with reliable internet access
      • Must adhere to all company privacy, security, and confidentiality requirements
      Compensation & Benefits
      • Salary Range: $40,000-$44,000 annually
      • Bonus Eligible: 5%
