What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct timely and thorough investigations to evaluate compliance with Federal Investigative Standards
- Recommend security clearance determinations based on investigative coverage sufficiency
- Analyze cases to determine the scope of investigations and identify potential issues
- Prepare instructional remarks and clarify standards for contract investigators and field agents
- Assist in developing training and criteria for identifying investigative trends and methodologies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a US citizen with a valid US passport and possess or maintain a minimum of a TOP SECRET clearance
- High School Diploma and at least 5-7 years of professional experience in conducting or directing background investigations
- Knowledge of security requirements and regulations pertaining to Personnel Security
- Ability to analyze and evaluate complex investigative reports and prepare clear written summaries
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with the Department of State is preferred
- Familiarity with federal legislative and regulatory security standards
