      JOB DESCRIPTION:

      Under the supervision of the Director of Technology and the Network Supervisor, the Jr Server Manager is responsible for performing the following core duties with additional duties assigned as the employee masters the following tasks.
      1. Working on assigned projects and within the project timeline
      2. Sharing responsibility for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, physical servers and virtualization environment.
      3. Installing, updating and upgrading computer software, manage virtual servers, and integrating automation processes
      4. Troubleshooting hardware and software problems with physical/virtual servers and appliances.
      5. Producing, updating and providing documentation on the physical/virtual servers
      6. Monitoring, updating and troubleshooting backup jobs done through Unitrends
      7. Maintaining/Assisting with the configuration for Authentication and Federation Systems including IDP setup and SSO
      8. Assisting in the capacity, storage planning for virtual and database servers
      9. Assisting the Infrastructure Manager with the network servers that support and monitor the network infrastructure.

      JOB REQUIREMENTS:

      Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required. 1+ years of production server administration experience. Prior knowledge of implementing IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of server, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols. Working knowledge of VMware, hardware, understanding of networking protocols, and prior experience with authentication methods preferred. Candidates must be able to communicate and interact tactfully and professionally with staff and various members including building level and central office administrators, staff, community patrons, and public and private agencies.
