We offer a breadth of professional support services in the areas of business management, communications, systems engineering, analysis, mission execution, and organization performance. We are looking to hire a Project Monitor I for one of our teams at the Department of Energy (DOE).

The Project Monitor I (PM I) will support the Department of Energy (DOE), Office of State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP), Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. The EECBG program provides funding to local governments, states, territories, and Tribes to implement strategies that reduce fossil fuel emissions, reduce total energy use, and improve energy efficiency across the transportation, building, and other sectors.

The Project Monitor I will support the EECBG federal teams by providing technical expertise and execution across the full grant lifecycle, along with other programmatic support.

      Specific requirements and responsibilities include:
      • Provide project monitoring support across the full grant lifecycle, including application and plan review and post-award monitoring.
      • Provide both desktop and on-site monitoring support.
      • Perform technical evaluations of recipient submissions, identifying corrective actions and recommending refined project requirements.
      • Track milestones, budgets, and technical targets against approved recipient plans; notify Project Officers of discrepancies.
      • Review recipient performance and financial reports for compliance with applicable statutes, program guidance, and award terms.
      • Support award closeout, including quality assurance review of closeout documentation in accordance with program procedures.
      • Maintain official file documentation in DOE systems.

      Job Requirements

      • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in engineering, business administration, environmental sciences, or a related discipline. Four (4) years of relevant education/experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
      • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience. A Master's degree may substitute for two (2) years.
      • Experience with the Federal Government, preferably with DOE.
      • Experience with financial assistance documentation disciplines and financial tracking systems.
      • Experience in documentation disciplines, including technical writing, editing, layout, document development and production, and desktop publishing.
      • Basic knowledge of modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, operational mathematics techniques, and other economic disciplines, and the ability to utilize them in determining solutions.
      • Experience applying operational research principles to investigate, analyze, plan, develop, implement, or evaluate systems.

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Experience supporting the EECBG program.
      • Experience supporting SCEP or the Department of Energy.
      • Familiarity with DOE systems.
