- Track and monitor project budgets, labor costs, travel, and expenditures
- Reconcile budgets across project management, finance, and contracting teams
- Prepare and deliver budget reports, financial summaries, and presentations
- Capture meeting notes, action items, and follow-ups to support project execution
- Support project planning and financial forecasting activities
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost control
- Ensure compliance with federal budgeting, reporting, and audit requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 3-4 years of experience in budget analysis, accounting, or project financial support
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience supporting federal agencies or government contractors (preferred)
- High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours or travel as required
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Experience supporting federal contracting or government-funded projects
- Knowledge of federal budget compliance and reporting standards
- Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
- Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and accuracy
Junior Budget Analyst - Support USPS Engineering Projects
Merrifield, VA
MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is hiring a Junior Budget Analyst to support U.S. Postal Service (USPS) engineering and infrastructure programs in Merrifield, VA. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in budget tracking, project finance, and federal reporting who want to grow within a stable, mission-driven federal environment.
You'll work directly with project managers and contracting teams to track budgets, analyze costs, and ensure compliance with federal financial requirements-helping keep large-scale USPS initiatives on schedule and within budget.
Work Schedule:
Initial on-site presence required for onboarding and ramp-up, with 1 day of telework per week once established.
