- Assist learners and faculty members in the Virtual Reality Simulation Lab including equipment setup, software updates, orientation to the technology, and troubleshooting/support during lab sessions.
- Assist with maintenance of CLC environments, supplies, and equipment (straightening rooms, changing and cleaning linens, packaging and re-stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, monitoring inventories);
- Distribute supplies and equipment to faculty and learners in accordance with CLC policy;
- Assist faculty with gathering and transporting learning materials in accordance with CLC policy;
- Maintain security for all areas of the CLC;
- Interact with CLC customers in a professional manner;
- Adhere to CLC policies as outlined in the operations manual;
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Good communication skills;
- Experience with gaming/virtual reality technologies (preferred but not required)
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail);
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
- One (1) year of experience in an environment that includes customer service;
- Experience with virtual reality and/or gaming technologies.
- CLC operates from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
- The applicant should consistently be available to work 8-10 hours/week but may not work more than 20 hours/week.
- Must be able to bend/stoop/squat/reach to stock supplies on low and high shelves;
- Must be able to push or pull carts, beds, and wheelchairs;
- Must be able to lift weights up to 40 lbs to manage equipment and patient simulators;
- Must have the dexterity to manipulate medical equipment (syringes, tubing, connectors, etc.) and technology equipment (VR goggles, chargers, etc.) for cleaning and assembly.

Position Summary
The Laboratory/Virtual Reality Student Assistant supports the operation of the Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions (SNHP) Clinical Learning Center (CLC). The Laboratory/Virtual Reality Student Assistant supports laboratory, virtual reality laboratory, and clinical simulation activities for students enrolled in SHNP programs and works under the supervision of SNHP faculty and clinical teaching assistants. The Laboratory/Virtual Reality Student Assistant reports to the Simulation Director.
This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program.
Note: Due to the nature of this position, the selected candidate cannot be a nursing major or a health professions applicant.
