What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate remote sensing activities, including acquiring, processing, and providing design survey deliverables using UAS and LiDAR mapping
- Review survey requests to determine effective methods and procedures for mapping projects
- Ensure a safe working environment during field operations
- Research, test, and develop methods and workflows for technical applications of UAS equipment
- Maintain UAS hardware and software updates while promoting remote sensing technology in the department
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a bachelor's degree with a major in surveying
- Minimum of three years of professional experience conducting land surveys, including one year equivalent to a Land Surveyor P11
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate within 6 months of hire
- Completion of a pre-employment drug test and physical
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Possession of a Professional Surveyor License issued by the State of Michigan
- Experience processing static and mobile LiDAR data
- Familiarity with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) equipment
- Knowledge of Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD)
- Previous experience in remote sensing technology applications
