What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist attorneys with Master Hearings and Individual Hearings
- Prepare prehearing briefs, legal memoranda, and briefs
- Conduct client interviews and draft affidavits
- Review immigration forms with clients and assist with case summaries for USCIS waiver cases
- Collaborate with the legal team to ensure high-quality representation
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must have completed the first year of law school
- Strong interest in immigration law
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Availability for 10-20 hours per week with flexibility for exam schedules and schoolwork
- Open to law school students at 1L, 2L, or 3L levels
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience or coursework related to immigration law
- Strong research and writing skills
- Familiarity with immigration processes and forms
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Commitment to serving the immigrant community
