What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct in-depth legal research on complex immigration and crimmigration law issues
- Draft, edit, and finalize critical legal documents, including Motions to Terminate (MTRs) and briefs for immigration courts
- Review, organize, and summarize evidence for court submissions
- Prepare attorneys for hearings by assembling trial packets and drafting formal requests
- Collaborate with managing attorneys to ensure effective case preparation
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Currently enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd-year law student
- Superior legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with proficiency in legal citation
- Strong preference for candidates with previous law clinic experience in immigration, asylum, or criminal justice
- Completed coursework in Immigration Law, Criminal Law/Procedure, Evidence, and/or Appellate Advocacy
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing a high-volume workload
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Direct experience drafting Motions to Terminate, PSG, or PHS briefs
- Previous involvement in legal clinics or practical experience in immigration law
