      Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting a Lawyer Recruiting Manager in Houston. This position performs works in conjunction with other members of Lawyer Recruiting and Development to oversee lawyer recruitment, lawyer services, diversity-related initiatives and professional development for designated offices and/or teams.

      RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

      1. Oversees all firm processes, policies and best practices for lateral lawyer hiring, approvals, recruiting, use of search firms, interviewing, selection, and approval of hiring terms and offer letters for Litigation team.
      2. Determines Litigation team entry-level, judicial clerkship, and lateral hiring needs. Consults with Team leadership regularly to provide feedback regarding team hiring needs. Keeps all relevant parties apprised of the needs of the team. Independently analyzes, recommends, develops and implements proactive recruiting strategies to meet those needs. Keeps all relevant parties (i.e. the Partner in Charge, the Associate Directors and Senior Managers of Lawyer Recruiting) apprised of such needs.
      3. Manages and oversees all aspects of the Houston Summer Associate program in accordance with firm-wide policies and practices. Collaborates with Hiring Partner and Recruiting Committee in determining the content and schedule of summer events. Oversees summer event coordination and lawyer participation. Creates and tracks summer budgets.
      4. Manages and oversees all aspects of student recruiting for assigned schools including research, annual business plan, budget, scheduled events and activities, and OCI registration and coordination for each school. Advances professional relationship with assigned law schools and develops creative recruiting strategies. Oversees the callback and recruiting process related to filling the Houston summer program.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      1. Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
      2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects or processes required, preferably in a law firm, professional services, or other client relationship-based organization. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
      3. Other Qualifications: Travel may be required. Availability and willingness to work hours as needed to meet critical deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications. Strong commitment to client service excellence and teamwork. Must possess the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism. Must act as catalyst for change, drive and own results. Creative and innovative. Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening) and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse group of professionals. Sound judgment and flexibility. Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions. Visual acuity needed to process and read extensive written communications. Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral communication. Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning and memory.
