What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead incident investigations and advanced threat hunting, ensuring effective response to security breaches
- Develop and implement incident response policies and procedures for structured handling of security incidents
- Collaborate with university management and cybersecurity teams during high-security events, providing executive communication and finished incident reports
- Analyze security logs and network traffic to identify indicators of compromise and malicious activity
- Document security incidents and conduct post-incident reviews to identify areas for improvement
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 5 years of experience in key Cyber Defense areas, including incident response and security monitoring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combined experience/education
- Significant experience in a SOC analyst or detection engineering role
- Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions
- Knowledge of digital forensics and incident response processes related to OT/IoT systems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 7 years of related experience
- A bachelor’s degree in information science, computer science, or a related field
- GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) or equivalent certification
- Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate or similar
- MITRE ATT&CK Defender certifications preferred
