What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist the coding manager in identifying diagnoses and procedures affecting patient visits and ensuring accuracy in code selection and charge entry
- Monitor and assist with missing documentation queues and adjust work assignments based on volume
- Assess health record documentation to ensure it supports all assigned diagnoses and procedures
- Apply knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems to assist billing services in submitting clean claims
- Organize and prioritize assigned work queues for daily review and completion

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field, or an Associate’s degree plus 2 years of coding experience, or a High School diploma with 4 years of coding experience
- Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems
- Certification such as CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and diagnostic terminology
- Ability to manipulate items with fingers, including keyboarding, and perform repetitive motions

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a healthcare coding environment
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Additional certifications related to coding or health information management
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills for interacting with medical staff and other departments
