What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct regular monitoring to ensure the accuracy of medical record coding/abstracting
- Provide training and support to employees to meet core competencies
- Stay updated on the latest coding guidelines and regulations
- Conduct monthly coding audits and document results for coder education
- Serve as a resource for coders by providing knowledge and guidance on coding-related topics

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 3 years of outpatient coding experience, including at least 1 year in the specialty overseen
- Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CPMA, CCS, RHIT)
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines
- Ability to conduct focused coding reviews and provide timely feedback

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Epic's electronic health record and 360 Encompass Encoder
- Strong communication skills for effective team collaboration
- Ability to provide production coding as needed while adhering to department standards
