Design, build, and implement an enterprise data governance program from scratch, including frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models
Establish data ownership, stewardship models, quality metrics, and accountability across departments
Translate governance strategy into executable processes during an early-stage governance maturity phase
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and partner with Information Security on data privacy and protection
Promote data literacy and train business units on governance best practices and adoption
Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, clinical, and business teams to enable trusted analytics and reporting
Lead governance initiatives and mentor analysts on tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or Informatica
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Data Science, or a related field
7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or healthcare analytics
Demonstrated experience building and operationalizing data governance programs from the ground up
Strong understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED)
Hands-on experience with EHR data (Epic, Oracle/Cerner, Meditech, etc.) and healthcare compliance frameworks
Proven ability to influence without authority and engage executive, clinical, and technical stakeholders
Master’s degree or Data Governance/Data Management certification (CDMP, DGSP, CHDA, etc.)
Experience leading enterprise-wide data governance initiatives in complex healthcare environments

Superlanet is seeking a Data Governance Lead to join our healthcare client’s IT team in Texas. This is a contract-to-hire position offering the opportunity to make an immediate impact by designing, standing up, and operationalizing an enterprise data governance program from the ground up. This role requires occasional onsite presence in Texas.
The Data Governance Lead will drive data integrity, security, and compliance across the organization - serving as the bridge between IT, clinical, and business leaders. This role will build foundational governance structures, develop policies and operating models, promote data stewardship, and ensure alignment with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH, CMS).
