      The Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer (Network) is responsible for the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms related to cloud network & cloud computing. The Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer (Network) provides strategic advice and guidance to functional team(s). Highly skilled with broad, advanced technical experience. The individual in this role will lead Humana network infrastructure implementation for Google Cloud.

      The Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer (Network) performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications for cloud network and cloud computing environments. Develops specifications for new IT cloud computing products and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Works with senior executives to develop and drive segment or enterprise-wide functional strategies. Advises one or more areas, programs or functions and provides recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance, and as an advanced subject matter expert competent to work at very high levels in multiple knowledge and functional areas across the enterprise. This role will have particular focus in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

      The Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer (Network) develops and evaluates cloud network performance criteria and measurement methods. Prepares the analysis of the short term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling. Conducts cloud network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies. Develops alternative cloud routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities. Conducts economic and population growth studies to determine impact on cloud network capacity and development plan projections. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to more complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Performs on-call and implementation duties on nights and weekends as required. Humana is seeking a Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer (Network) who will deliver solutions for Multi-Cloud network connectivity. This is a critical role within Humana’s IT organization responsible for the engineering and design, planning, implementation, and establishment of operational and maintenance programs to deliver best-in-class next generation cloud network infrastructure. This includes optimizing all aspects of cloud network eco-system, including performance, resiliency, availability, resource utilization and innovation. This person will provide cloud network design, engineering and administrative support of both physical and virtual networking devices within our Multi-Cloud environments , particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This person will be responsible for leveraging state-of-the-art networking technologies, including virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN), to develop and deliver a robust, scalable, cloud network eco-system.

      Required Qualifications

      • BS/BA, preferably in a technical or scientific field.

      • 5+ years of experience architecting, implementing and supporting large-scale cloud network infrastructure, with advanced experience designing enterprise cloud network solutions.
      • Cloud certifications - Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect + Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Network Engineer
      • Network engineering certification such as CCNA through CCNP or the equivalent
      • 8+ years of technical network engineering experience
      • 5+ years of project leadership experience.
      • 8+ years of Layer 2/ Layer 3 network architectural design (LAN/WAN) and engineering experience.
      • 5+ years of experience working with MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and other LAN/WAN technologies.
      • Strong experience supporting enterprise cloud, large-scale datacenters and remote sites.
      • Experience with Cisco networking equipment.
      • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
      • Experience with VPN technologies.
      • Knowledge of QoS and network security functions (firewalls, VPN, IPS, etc).
      • ISP and/or carrier backbone engineering experience/knowledge.
      • Must possess strong communication skills (oral and written) and technical understanding to take complex technical concepts and present them to a range of technical and non-technical audiences (including senior leadership).
      • Experience with implementing and operating a software-defined network environment (VXLAN, EVPN, Vipetla etc.).
      • Vendor management skills (hardware/software security vendors as well as third party vendors).
      • Experience working with Data Center Colocation facilities and virtual network fabric provided by vendors such as Equinix and Mega-Port.
      • Infrastructure as Code experience
      • CI/CD Pipeline experience
      • Able to mentor peers on engineering team in terms of continuing education and daily project support.
      • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Demonstrated experience with DevOps
      • Network engineering certification such as CCNP through CCIE or the equivalent.
      • Familiarity with Akamai, ZScaler, and ThousandEyes
      • Experience with AGILE methodology & ITSM processes
      • Deep understanding of virtual network appliance offerings and how to apply them to public cloud providers (Google GCP, Amazon AWS, MS Azure).
      • Deep understanding of cloud architecture network designs, implementations, and support (GCP, AWS, Azure).
      • Understanding of Cloud Network Security technologies
      • Familiarity with public cloud provider PaaS and SaaS offerings (e.g. Azure Kubernetes Service, Application Service Environment, etc.) Data Center infrastructure solutions: Cisco (R&S), Palo Alto (NGFW + IDS/IPS functions), Infoblox (DDI), Cisco ISE, also implemented on Cisco products
      • Programming/scripting languages and frameworks knowledge and experience, in support of automation (Python, Ansible, etc.).
      • Experience with Cisco Viptela, Arista, and other SDN/next-gen technologies.
      • Experience architecting and implementing large-scale SD-WAN solutions.
      • Demonstrated experience with DevOps, ITIL, and platform process & technology.
      • Master's Degree in a Technical Field.
      • Experience working with Microsoft Office 365.

      Pay Range

      The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


      $126,800 - $174,500 per year


      This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
