- Holistically operate integrated chiller plant facilities and mechanical, electrical, and fire suppression systems
- Diagnose complex technical problems and implement effective solutions
- Serve as technical escalation point for the engineering team
- Develop and improve system maintenance plans
- Conduct equipment testing and commissioning
- Participate in project development including schedules and budgets
- Provide direction, training, and professional development for engineering staff
- Create and manage engineer work schedules including PTO and after-hours coverage
- Conduct annual performance evaluations
- Coordinate emergency response procedures
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines
- Manage daily CMMS (Corrigo) operations
- Order parts through Marketplace platform
- Maintain spare parts inventory and reporting
- Schedule and coordinate contractor service work
- Manage engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Maintain comprehensive onsite records
- Generate infrastructure and facilities systems status reports
- Track critical spare parts
- Produce maintenance performance metrics
- Create after-action reports following incidents
- Minimum 5 years in mission-critical facilities operations and maintenance
- Extensive knowledge of central building plant operations
- Demonstrated expertise in reliability engineering techniques
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical/mechanical drawings and control diagrams
- Proven track record of effective problem-solving
- Experience with low voltage wiring systems
- Excellent technical communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Engineering licensure preferred
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office suite and Visio/Project
- Understanding of computer hardware architecture
- 24/7 operational environment
- Emergency response required outside normal business hours

The Lead Operating Engineer manages the technical operation of integrated chiller/plant facility systems in a 24x7 mission-critical environment. This role leads the engineering team, partners with the Facility Coordinator, and engages directly with onsite clients to ensure zero unplanned downtime of critical systems. The LOE serves as the technical advisor to the Facility Manager, providing engineering solutions for building systems challenges while maintaining 100% facility uptime through effective team leadership and vendor management.
