What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct intake processes for referred individuals within 72 hours, fostering engagement and understanding of available services
- Provide support and advocacy during significant life transitions for individuals served
- Facilitate Peer Support groups and connect individuals to recovery resources
- Supervise and mentor Team Peer Specialists, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and recovery values
- Implement recovery-oriented interventions and assist individuals in developing self-advocacy skills
What is Required (Qualifications):
- One to three years of experience providing peer support to individuals with psychiatric disabilities and/or co-occurring disorders
- Personal, first-hand experience as a recipient of mental health services
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record; must be at least 21 years old
- Ability to perform physically active tasks and assist individuals with daily living skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with recovery-oriented practices and knowledge of community resources
- Certification as a Peer Specialist or completion of relevant recovery coach training within six months of hire
- Strong advocacy skills and sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds
