What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead the design and implementation of peer support interventions tailored to the needs of Afghan refugee communities
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to multidisciplinary teams, including Peer Support Specialists and Social Workers
- Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to identify service priorities and resource allocation
- Develop client-centered service plans that emphasize empowerment and self-sufficiency
- Liaise with community members and local partners to strengthen referral networks and community integration pathways
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a peer support specialist or in managing peer support programs
- At least 2 years of experience working with refugee and immigrant populations
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong case coordination, mentorship, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel to Texas at least once per month during the program period
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bilingual skills in Pashto and Dari
- Experience in developing case management models that integrate behavioral health and housing support
