What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Support patients, staff, and clinical teams with effective communication
- Oversee the daily work of Prior Authorization Specialists, ensuring accurate insurance verification and authorization
- Monitor productivity, quality, and compliance with payer rules and departmental standards
- Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance policies and authorization processes
- Track and analyze authorization-related denials and manage Epic work queues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3–5 years of healthcare experience with insurance and/or prior authorization
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Previous experience processing prior authorizations preferred
- One year of leadership experience in healthcare desired
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of coding updates, payer policies, and regulatory requirements
- Previous mentoring or supervisory experience within a healthcare setting
- Familiarity with Epic or similar healthcare management systems
