      Langley Federal Credit Union is currently hiring for a Full Time Learning and Development Specialist to work a Hybrid work schedule, based in our corporate office in Newport News, VA.

      Job Summary:

      Assesses employees' training needs, designs and implements learning programs, and evaluates the effectiveness of these programs to ensure that they address identified knowledge/skills gaps and improve employee performance. Applies instructional design and curriculum development knowledge to build and maintain training content fit for various delivery methods. Works closely with Training & Development Specialists to ensure that all training content reflects operational best practices and supports organizational needs.

      Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

      • Collaborates with internal business partners and subject matter experts to conduct training needs assessments.
      • Uses instructional systems design and adult learning principles to design and develop training and development solutions, including frontline new hire training, reskilling/upskilling existing employees, and other areas as defined by the Langley People Strategy and the enterprise learning and development plan.
      • Works to ensure training solutions reflect operational best practices and achieve optimal performance outcomes.
      • Creates training material/media (job aids, work instructions, facilitator guides, audio, video, role plays, games, etc.) to support new and existing training programs.
      • Applies tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods, including ADDIE.
      • Conducts instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
      • Stays informed of the current trends in training and development.
      • Works closely with Training and Development specialists to establish consistent standards for all training content and instructor-led course delivery.
      • Performs administrative duties in Langley’s Learning Management System (LMS), including uploading and maintaining course content, building instructor-led course sessions, and evaluating courses.
      • Performs quality assurance on all learning and development materials to ensure they reflect Langley culture, are technically accurate, and are instructionally sound.
      • Delivers in-person and virtual training periodically.

      Qualifications:

      • Two to four years of experience delivering instructor-led classroom training for adult learners is required.
      • One year of experience in instructional design or curriculum development is required.
      • A minimum of six months of experience with course authoring software (preferably Articulate 360 Suite) is preferred.
      • A minimum of one year of experience performing administrative functions in a Learning Management System is preferred.
