We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s
student body as a Lecturer within The Department of Health and Human Performance (HHP)
beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. This is an in-person position of instruction with a home base campus (Edinburg).

Department/College Background
The Department of Health and Human Performance in the College of Health Professions at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking candidates who have demonstrated a record of success in teaching and service that are commensurate with an appointment as a Lecturer to begin Fall 2025. The position requires teaching undergraduate courses in exercise science and kinesiology, serving as a field supervisor for practicums, serving as a student advisor, serving on university, college, and departmental committees and task forces, and performing other duties assigned by the department chair.
Faculty will be required to teach in a variety of settings incorporating technology and student-engaged pedagogies to maximize student success and be able to conduct scholarship work in the field. Given that UTRGV is a distributed campus, faculty may be required to teach online or hybrid courses or teach at different locations. Service to the department college, university, community, and professional organizations is an integral part of the faculty member’s responsibilities.
