Description
We're seeking a sharp legal assistant for our busy law firm who can help our attorneys assist clients and keep our workflows running smoothly. You'll work with the team to prepare a variety of legal documents and handle office correspondence like answering emails and phone calls, scheduling meetings and follow-ups, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. Responsibilities
Required Skills

• Managing small projects, tracking dates and information, creating and managing spreadsheets, following up on projects, dates, and statuses
• Setting and meeting deadlines

• Excellent interpersonal skills which allow you to actively listen, anticipate needs, and problem-solve
• Grasp and explain difficult concepts and explain them in an easy-to-understand manner
• Ability to follow instructions to deliver desired outcomes
Responsibilities
• Create, update, review, and proofread legal documents
• Manage firm work in progress, update, and move work down the pipeline
• Organize client work and provide status updates to client and firm
• Update, modify, and complete templates and client work
• Perform legal research, update templates, and manage client deadlines
• Organize and synthesize large amounts of information into organized and understandable formats
• Maintain organization and completeness of client files in Lawmatics as well as the organization of the Hello shared drive
• Scheduling of new and recurring appointments
• Ensure the ongoing update and organization of firm paperwork
• Be responsible for scheduling and modifying firm newsletters
• Perform special projects
• Take care of administrative tasks and office correspondence by answering phone calls and emails, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and informing the team of upcoming deadlines
• Schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, make travel arrangements, and coordinate with outside vendors for events
• Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team and ensure the firm runs smoothly
• Complete legal research as needed under the supervision of attorneys and paralegals
Qualifications
• Candidates should have strong organizational skills and communication skills
• Some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required
• At least 1-2 years of previous experience in a law firm setting performing administrative tasks
• Experience with legal software, litigation case management, and docketing programs
• Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environmentAbout the company
