What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Evaluate, license, and monitor assigned child care programs, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Investigate complaints against illegally operating programs and licensed programs as assigned
- Recommend and participate in issuing enforcement actions to support compliance with licensing rules
- Draft documentation, reports, and comments, and enter updates in the Wisconsin Child Care Regulatory System (WISCCRS)
- Conduct on-site visits approximately 3-4 days per week, requiring travel throughout the region
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience working with investigative techniques and strategies
- Professional experience in regulated child care or early care education settings for children (birth - 8 years old)
- Experience writing complex and detailed reports, memos, and correspondence
- Ability to interpret and apply policy, state statutes, and administrative rules
- Valid driver's license and at least 2 years of driving experience
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience preparing and testifying in court or administrative hearings
- Experience making home visits or business site visits in a regulatory capacity
- Familiarity with child care-related automated systems (e.g., WISCCRS, CSAW, CARES)
