What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct a systematic review of existing literature on closed-loop drug delivery systems
- Characterize types of closed-loop drug delivery systems in development or clinical use
- Identify therapeutic areas for application, focusing on metabolic, neurological, and oncological conditions
- Explore integration of digital health technologies to enhance system responsiveness
- Map gaps in literature and propose future research directions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in Lancaster University Medical School
- Strong interest in biomedical engineering, physiology, or digital health
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a research team
- Basic understanding of systematic literature review methodologies
- Availability to commit up to 25 hours per week for the duration of the internship
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in research or academic projects related to medical technologies
- Familiarity with databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science
- Skills in data analysis or scientific communication
- Involvement in extracurricular activities relevant to healthcare or research
