About the Role
We're looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Loan Officer Assistant with strong mortgage processing experience and a passion for providing exceptional client service. This hybrid role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of client-facing support and back-end mortgage operations. You'll serve as a critical partner to a high-performing loan officer, managing the entire loan lifecycle-from pre-qualification to post-closing.
This is a high-impact role where your proactive communication, organizational skills, and compliance know-how will directly contribute to faster closes, happy clients, and long-term business growth.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the first point of contact for prospective borrowers, assisting in gathering initial documents and vetting applications to ensure product and guideline alignment.
• Manage files from application to post-close, including pre-approvals, pipeline tracking, and follow-up documentation. Ensure all stages of the loan process are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Review applications and documentation to ensure alignment with mortgage guidelines, underwriting requirements, and all federal/state regulations.
• Maintain an organized loan pipeline with clear status tracking. Communicate proactively with loan officers, clients, and internal teams to resolve issues and prevent bottlenecks.
• Act as a liaison between the loan officer and client throughout the loan lifecycle. Provide updates, explain documentation requests, and help manage client expectations.
• Assist loan officers with administrative tasks, CRM updates, appointment scheduling, and lead follow-up to ensure the loan team can operate at maximum efficiency.
Qualifications
• 2-4 years of experience in mortgage loan processing, underwriting, or related operations
• 2+ years of experience as a Loan Officer Assistant or in a similar client-facing role within the mortgage industry
• In-depth knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and/or Non-QM loan programs
• Proven ability to manage high-volume loan pipelines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with LOS systems such as Arive, Encompass, Calyx Point, or similar
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-first mindset
• Strong understanding of mortgage compliance, TRID, and federal/state lending regulations
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
• NMLS license is a plus, but not required
• Fluent in Spanish preferred, but not requiredAbout the company
