What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Make contact with responsible parties on loans through telephonic and written communication to determine the cause of delinquency
- Assist in developing repayment arrangements and suggestions to reinstate member obligations
- Cross-sell Credit Union products and services to enhance member engagement
- Recommend appropriate actions to supervisors regarding delinquent accounts
- Maintain compliance with Debtor/Creditor Collection Law and Fair Debt Collections Practices Act
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate of Arts/Science degree preferred
- Knowledge of Debtor/Creditor Collection Law, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, and related Florida Statutes
- Excellent verbal communication skills with familiarity in bank/credit union consumer loans preferred
- Proven ability to evaluate issues and make sound decisions based on facts
- Basic to intermediate operational knowledge of general office and PC equipment, including automated collection software
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bilingual (Spanish) is desired
- Experience in a call center environment is beneficial
- Familiarity with bankruptcy law is advantageous
- Knowledge of predictive dialing systems is a plus
