What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Audit files and verify calculations performed by other Loss Mitigation Specialists to ensure compliance with investor/insurer guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Perform quality control reviews of modification documents and secondary reviews of approval or denial decisions
- Review all income/expense amounts and ratio calculations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor call recordings and complete Call Quality scorecards based on defined quality/compliance criteria
- Stay current on changes in industry regulations and recommend updates to internal policies and procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college courses or a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of five years of back-office mortgage servicing and loss mitigation home retention/liquidation experience required
- Strong working knowledge of conventional and government mortgage loan documents and related regulatory requirements
- Ability to work in a sometimes emotionally demanding role that requires patience and professionalism
- Proficiency with basic internet searches, data entry, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with document retention software, such as Blitzdoc
- Strong project management, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to evaluate and audit a high volume of work
- Advanced math skills
- 10-key by touch strongly preferred
