What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop strong communication networks and build relationships with distributors, engineers, and municipalities.
- Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of distributors.
- Execute the company's pricing strategy for assigned accounts to ensure adequate margins and returns on sales.
- Troubleshoot product issues in the field and by phone, acting as a liaison between end users, customers, and the company.
- Prepare price quotations or bids based on knowledge of material and market conditions.
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years' industrial sales experience required, preferably in the waterworks industry, or completion of the employer's Sales Trainee program.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean DMV record.
- Must be self-motivated with strong negotiation and customer service skills.
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a mechanical or technical field relevant to waterworks products.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market conditions and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Familiarity with inventory and manufacturing software.
- Previous experience in trade associations or participation in seminars and trade shows.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
