What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile medical records
- Perform injections and assist providers with procedures and medical exams
- Prepare and clean exam rooms, and submit medication prior authorizations
- Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to providers
- Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or equivalent
- Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6 months of hire
- Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
- Strong communication skills and ability to act as a liaison between patients and providers
- Ability to assist in transporting patients as required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a primary care setting or similar healthcare environment
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems
- Bilingual skills to assist diverse patient populations
- Familiarity with point of care testing procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours, including rotating Saturday shifts
